Minimum: 10+ Seeds Common Pear Seeds — The European Ancestor Behind Every Orchard Pear You've Tasted Common Pear is the genetic foundation of nearly every named pear cultivar grown in orchards. This European native is fast-growing and productive: in spring, the tree erupts in fragrant white flowers clustered along every branch, magnets for bees and wild pollinators. By late summer to early fall, these flowers mature into sweet, juicy, light-yellow teardrop-shaped fruit. The tree grows 40-50 feet tall with upright graceful form, glossy dark-green leaves turning brilliant golden yellow to deep red in autumn. It is self-fertile, meaning one tree produces fruit, though cross-pollination improves yield. Remarkably tolerant of clay soil, drought once established, and atmospheric pollution, this is a heritage fruit tree that asks surprisingly little and delivers generations of harvests. Who Grows Common Pear Seeds? Orchard gardeners wanting true heritage genetics. Anyone with clay soil tired of demanding plants.
