Fast-Growing Variety: Astro Arugula is known for its rapid growth, allowing you to enjoy fresh, homegrown greens in as little as 3-4 weeks after planting. Mild Flavor: Unlike traditional arugula varieties, Astro has a milder flavor profile, making it ideal for those who prefer a less peppery taste in their salads and dishes. Versatile Use: Perfect for fresh salads, sandwiches, garnishes, or as a spicy addition to your favorite dishes, Astro Arugula is a versatile green that enhances any meal. Organic and Non-GMO: Our seeds are certified organic and non-GMO, ensuring a healthy, chemical-free addition to your garden and table. Growing Tips for Organic Astro Arugula Seeds Planting: Sow seeds directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in early spring or late summer for a fall harvest. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep and 1 inch apart in rows 10-12 inches apart. For continuous harvests, sow seeds every 2-3 weeks. Sunlight: Astro Arugula thrives in full sun to partial shade. In hotter climates, providing some afternoon shade will prevent the plants from bolting and help maintain tender leaves. Soil: Arugula prefers well-draining, fertile soil with a pH of 6.0-7.0. Enrich the soil with compost or well-rotted manure before planting to ensure robust growth. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Regular watering is essential to maintain the mild flavor and prevent the leaves from becoming too spicy or tough. Fertilizing: Astro Arugula does not require heavy feeding. An initial application of compost or a balanced organic fertilizer at planting time is usually sufficient. Thinning: Thin seedlings to 4-6 inches apart when they are a few inches tall to provide space for proper growth. Use the thinned seedlings in salads for an early taste of your crop. Harvesting: Begin harvesting leaves when they are 2-3 inches long for the best flavor. Cut the outer leaves first, allowing the inner leaves to continue growing for successive harvests. For baby greens, harvest the entire plant when they are young and tender. Pest Control: Watch for common pests like aphids, flea beetles, and slugs. Use organic pest control methods, such as neem oil, diatomaceous earth, or beneficial insects, to keep your plants healthy. Bolting: In warmer weather, arugula may bolt and produce flowers. To extend the harvest, plant in cooler weather or provide shade during hot spells. Once the plant bolts, the leaves may become bitter; however, the flowers are edible and add a spicy note to dishes. Culinary Uses for Astro Arugula Salads: Use fresh Astro Arugula leaves as a base or garnish for salads. Pair with fruits like apples or pears and nuts for a delicious contrast of flavors and textures. Sandwiches and Wraps: Add arugula leaves to sandwiches, wraps, or burgers for a peppery crunch and vibrant flavor. Pasta and Pizza: Toss fresh arugula with warm pasta dishes or scatter over pizza just before serving for a burst of fresh flavor. Pesto: Blend arugula with olive oil, nuts, garlic, and Parmesan cheese to create a unique, peppery pesto that pairs well with pasta, fish, or vegetables. Health Benefits Nutrient-Rich: Arugula is an excellent source of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as folate and calcium, contributing to overall health and wellness. Antioxidant Properties: Rich in antioxidants, arugula helps protect the body from free radicals and supports a healthy immune system. Digestive Health: The fiber content in arugula supports healthy digestion and regularity. Order Your Organic Astro Arugula Seeds Today!
