ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)

The Effortlessly Elegant Overachiever Glossy, graceful, and nearly indestructible, ZZ Plants (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) are the definition of easy elegance. With their thick, waxy leaves and sculptural form, ZZs bring lush life and a polished finish to any room—whether that’s a cozy apartment corner or a sleek office desk. Native to East Africa, these resilient beauties thrive on neglect and seem to laugh in the face of drought, dim lighting, and busy schedules. If you’ve ever said “I just can’t keep plants alive,” this one’s for you. Why You’ll Love It Unfazed by Forgetfulness – ZZs store water in their rhizomes (underground tubers), meaning they can go weeks—sometimes months—without a drink. Perfect for plant parents on autopilot. Shines in Any Light – From bright indirect light to low-light corners, ZZ Plants adapt gracefully. While they’ll grow faster in brighter conditions, they’ll keep their good looks even in the shadows. Low-Maintenance Luxury – That glossy foliage looks high-end but demands almost nothing. No misting, pruning, or constant repotting—just a little love every now and then. Available Varieties ZZ Plant (Green) – The timeless classic with rich emerald leaves and a glossy finish. Bold, vibrant, and endlessly forgiving. ZZ Plant ‘Raven’ – Strikingly modern, this rare cultivar starts bright green and matures into deep, dramatic, near-black foliage. Perfect for moody interiors or bold design statements. Care Tips Light: Low to bright indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. Water: Every 3–6 weeks, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings. ZZs are extremely drought-tolerant—when in doubt, skip it. Humidity: Totally unfussy. No misting needed. Temperature: Happy in typical indoor temps (55–85°F). Avoid extreme cold. Soil: Prefers well-draining soil. Avoid letting it sit in water. ⚠️ Pet Safety: ZZ Plants are toxic to pets if ingested. Keep out of reach of curious cats and dogs.
