ZWO 131APO+AM5N Bundle

This package features ZWO's powerful 5-inch refractor, the FF131 APO, on their renowned AM5 mount for a package with serious punch. Tripod and 200mm extension pier included. Package Includes: ZWO FF131-APO Astrograph F/7.5 983mm focal length ZWO AM5N Harmonic EQ Mount ZWO TC40 Carbon Fiber Tripod PE200 Extension Pier ZWO FF131 APO Flat-Field Apochromatic Refractor *Focus can be achieved within a back focus range of 42–73 mm, measured from the M54–M48 interface shoulder. Main Features Flexible Connectivity for Multiple Configurations Uniqueness Four-Element Optical Design The FF131 APO features a four-element, fully air-spaced apochromatic optical design. All four elements work together to deliver a flat imaging field without the need for an additional field flattener. One ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element is incorporated to effectively reduce chromatic aberration, resulting in improved color correction and image clarity. 44 mm Image Circle — Full-Frame Support With a 44 mm image circle, the FF131 APO fully supports full-frame sensors and a wide range of imaging setups. It delivers sharp star fields with excellent edge-to-edge performance, ensuring consistent image quality across the entire frame. Native Flat-Field Design The FF131 APO features a native flat-field optical design, eliminating the need for an additional field flattener. No complex back focus calculations or spacing adjustments are required—simply attach your imaging setup and start capturing once focus is achieved. Convenient Design Coarse & fine focus adjustment Equipped with a rigid 3-inch rack-and-pinion focuser, the FF131 APO offers precise control with a 1:10 coarse & fine focus adjustment mechanism. A built-in 360° rotator at the rear allows for smooth and accurate camera angle adjustments. Retractable Dew Shield  The FF131 APO features a retractable dew shield, reducing overall length for improved portability. Precision CNC machining and a high-quality painted finish, combined with an internal anti-reflection coating, help minimize stray light and enhance image contrast. Quick-Release Mounting Rings The mounting rings are detachable, allowing for quick and easy setup or teardown of the telescope. Photography Extension Tube The FF131 APO is designed for seamless integration with modern imaging systems, and includes a standard four-section photographic extension tube with a 2-inch filter thread. Rear adapters in both M48x0.75 and M54x0.75 formats are also included, making it easy to connect a wide range of cameras, filters, and astrophotography accessories for a clean, flexible setup right out of the box. Performance Optical Layout Star Field Map Product Diagram Specifications What's in the Box? AM5N Harmonic Mount Supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Cable management to prevent cable entanglement. Saddle integrates DC output and USB Type-C port to effectively prevent cable snags. The unique design ensures that the internal cable will not be twisted and wear when the DEC rotates.       Improved ease of use. The equipment is self-contained hexagonal wrench. High Angle radium carving position is more intuitive. Base reinforcement design eliminates azimuth locking operation.                        High load mode. In order to counter the impact of low temperature operating environments on the performance of the mount, the App has a new high load mode. Dual Mount Style ZWO has designed the AM5 mount with the capability of switching between equatorial or alt-azimuth mount modes. You can switch the mode through the included hand controller or through the app on a smartphone or tablet. The body of the mount comes with a status light indicator that will indicate whether the mount is in an equatorial or alt-azimuth mode. The red light signals the AM5 is in EQ mode and the green light signals the mount is in Alt-azimuth mode. The equatorial mode is great for tracking and imaging celestial objects while the alt-azimuth mode works well for observations. Two Mount Control Options When it comes to controlling the AM5 mount, astrophotographers can use the included hand controller or use the Bluetooth or WiFi connection and wirelessly control the mount from a smartphone or tablet. Included is a rocker style hand controller. The size of the controller makes it easy to hold and use while the rocker style design allows the mount to be pushed in multiple directions. For the wireless control function, users can utilize the integrated WiFi network emitted by the hand controller and use Tonight's Target, GoTo, Live Preview, and others to pair with the ZWO AM5 mount. Please note that in order to utilize the WiFi, you must plug in the controller to emit the signal.  Harmonic Drive Speed Reducer and Synchronous Belt The incorporated Harmonic drive speed reducer and synchronous belt allow this mount head to have precision control. While a traditional equatorial mount requires counterweights for use, this ZWO mount's harmonic drive speed reducer and synchronous belt eliminate the need for counterweights, though they can be added if desired (an M12 thread interface is available for compatible, user-supplied counterweight shafts). Having this design allows for more accurate control and a reduction ratio of 300:1. Power Failure Protection The AM5 EQ/Alt-Az mount head from ZWO is equipped with a power brake system. If there is a sudden power failure during use, the AM5 mount power failure protection design will prevent your telescope from falling and being damaged. This is feature is very important when it comes to the well-being of your imaging equipment. By triggering the brake system to stop the mount's movements, you will be able to maintain your equipment's balance and safety. 0-90° Latitude Adjustment Range This ZWO AM5 mount comes with a 0-90° latitude adjustment range. For the first gear, adjust the pitch angle grip to achieve between 0° to 60°. For the second gear, loosen the hex-head screw and adjust the pitch angle grip to get between 45° and 90°. Not only does this allow astroimagers to use the AM5 in alt-azimuth mode, it also allows those in both low and high latitude locations to use this mount when in equatorial mode.
