ZD220 Thermal TransferUses a ribbon to print on paper or synthetic labels. Best for product identification, asset labels, inventory labels and applications that need a longer-lasting, more durable printed image. Compatible Accessories, Service Parts and Options Accessory / Option Purpose Selection Notes Factory-Installed Label Dispenser Peels each printed label from the liner and presents it for immediate application. Use a Zebra-approved supply matched to the ZD220 and local power requirements. Replacement Printhead Restores print quality when the original 203 dpi printhead reaches the end of its service life. Select the correct part for the direct thermal or thermal transfer chassis. Replacement Platen Roller Replaces a worn drive roller that can cause feeding or print-quality issues. Match the platen kit to the exact ZD220 model and print method. Ribbon Carriage Replacement ribbon-handling assembly for the ZD220 thermal transfer printer. Not used with the direct thermal model. Zebra OneCare Service Adds extended repair and support coverage beyond the standard warranty. Coverage term and service level should be selected when the printer is purchased. When to Choose the Zebra ZD220 Choose the ZD220 WhenYou need a simple, affordable USB desktop printer for routine 4-inch labels and do not require wireless networking, Ethernet, advanced security or high-volume printing. Consider a ZD421 or ZD621 WhenYou need Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 300 dpi, a cutter, battery operation, advanced printer management, increased speed or broader accessory support. Configuration guidance: Confirm whether the application requires direct thermal or thermal transfer printing, standard tear-off or label dispensing, label dimensions, adhesive, face material, ribbon type, roll diameter, core size and expected print volume. The ZD220 is intended for economical low-to-moderate-volume desktop use. Higher-volume or mission-critical workflows may be better served by the Zebra ZD421, ZD621 or ZT Series.
