This gives the leather a velvety surface, makes it very soft to the touch and increases its breathability. The disadvantage of this surface is its increased sensitivity to stains. With appropriate leather care, such as impregnating spray, this sensitivity can be counteracted well. The UV resistance is also reduced, which can lead to easier bleaching of the shoe. Mainly cowhide and calf leather are used for nubuck leather. However, goats and lambs also have a flat grain and are therefore well suited for processing into nubuck leather due to their fine structure. PU - polyurethane: Polyurethane is used to produce various foams and foam materials, which are used for shoe soles, mattresses, gaskets, floors, insulation materials and much more. PU soles are sprayed directly onto the shoe under high pressure and heat. They have high thermal insulation and good insulating properties. Polyurethane foams are available as soft or hard foam. FLUIDFORM™: Ecco FLUIDFORM™ is a technology developed by Ecco over thirty years that enables the production of ergonomically optimized soles. By directly injecting tough, cushioning material into the shoe mold, we achieve a seamless and instant bond between sole and upper without the traditional compromises of glue and seam joints. The result is a reliable and durable connection between upper and sole unit that offers a balanced weight balance of cushioning and flexibility. RECEPTOR®: RECEPTOR® sole technology is the result of continuous innovation in heel placement, smooth transition and walking comfort. RECEPTOR® is a 2001 innovation created in collaboration with a scientific team studying the human walking movement. The technology is the result of the understanding that the foot actually performs three separate processes at each step - heel contact, mid-position, roll-off/rejection. With Ecco RECEPTOR®, these phases are optimized and the foot is anatomically supported at the same time. This technology consists of a "three-finger" roll-off element, an internal metatarsal shank and dual flex grooves. Lightweight and supportive sandal range offering superior everyday walking comfort on and off the trail.
