Yun Hai Yu Ding Xing Spicy Soy Paste

NYC-based small business Yun Hai 雲海 offers a selection of premium ingredients for Chinese and Taiwanese cooking, sourcing directly from artisans, farms, and soy sauce breweries in Taiwan. Yu Ding Xing Spicy Soy Paste is a distinctive Taiwanese condiment made by cooking soy sauce with rice starch, creating a rich, oyster sauce-like texture. Its bold umami and sweet soy flavors make it perfect for glazing stir-fries, marinating meats and tofu, or serving as a quick sauce for steamed vegetables. This spicy version features ground heaven-facing chilis, known as "chicken heart" peppers, which add vibrant heat and color. Enhanced with tomato, a beloved Taiwanese ingredient, it delivers a harmonious blend of fruity spice, subtle sweetness, and deep umami, making it an irresistible addition to dry noodles or a dip for danbing.
