Rare Yooperlite + Hematite Sphere 4.63" — UV Reactive Glow

This 4.63 inch, 4.88 pound sphere is hand-carved and polished to highlight the stone's natural character. In daylight it appears an understated gray — but under a 365nm UV light, it transforms, fluorescing a vivid yellow-orange-red that has to be seen to be believed. Yooperlite is the trade name for syenite rock containing fluorescent sodalite — a term widely used across the market, though technically it applies to specimens from Michigan's Great Lakes region. A genuine natural phenomenon and a one-of-a-kind piece built for table accent, gifting, or any collector who appreciates the extraordinary hidden in the ordinary. Rare Hematite-Included Yooperlite Sphere – Fluorescent Sodalite in Red Syenite While standard Yooperlite often appears as an understated grey in daylight, this rare variation features striking red hematite (iron oxide) inclusions. These natural iron deposits have stained the feldspar matrix over centuries, giving the stone a rich, complex, and earthy presence that stands on its own as a bold table accent. Designated for our Reserve Collection, this rare hematite variation stands apart — a bold, one-of-a-kind natural statement few collectors will ever come across. Round acrylic stand included.
