Its standard configuration allows you to smoke, grill, roast, and bake with precision. The removable access door on the heat diffuser plate unlocks direct-flame grilling over the firebox, allowing temperatures high enough to properly sear steaks, burgers, and chops—something unmatched in the pellet grill category. From 12-hour low-temperature smokes at 250°F to ripping-hot sears near 700°F at the grate, the YS480S transitions seamlessly between cooking styles while maintaining rock-solid temperature stability. Adaptive Control System (ACS) with Wi-Fi The next-generation Adaptive Control System connects to both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi through the FireBoard mobile app. This allows you to manage grill temperature, monitor meats using the two integrated food probes, and program advanced cooking sequences directly from your phone. The ACS controller uses a powerful microprocessor that actively compensates for temperature swings caused by opening the lid, cold meat loads, weather conditions, or pellet changes—delivering consistent results regardless of cooking conditions. Cooking Capacity & Layout 480 sq. in. primary cooking surface 320 sq. in. second-level slide-out shelf Nearly 12 inches of vertical clearance for large cuts and poultry Ideal size for large family cooks, gatherings, and competition prep American-Made Heavy-Gauge Construction Weighing 277 pounds, the YS480S is built from heavy-gauge steel designed for decades of use. The 10-gauge steel cooking chamber ensures durability and consistent airflow, while the 14-gauge steel hopper and cart provide a stable, rugged foundation. Proudly built in Kansas, USA Rugged, all-season construction for year-round performance Heavy-duty casters for smooth mobility on patios and decks Pellet & Ash Management The 20-pound pellet hopper provides approximately 10 hours of runtime at 225°F. A high-airflow burn grate improves efficiency and moves ash away from the burn pot, reducing clogging and improving combustion. The ceramic ignition system heats faster, produces more heat, and lasts significantly longer than conventional igniters—dramatically reducing ignition failures. Expandability with Optional Accessories The YS480S can be expanded with optional accessories to further increase its versatility: Yoder Smokers Wood-Fired Oven for pizza, broiling, and stovetop-style cooking GrillGrate Set to push grate temps beyond 650°F for steakhouse searing Shipping & Assembly Flat-rate freight shipping is available, with pricing calculated at checkout. To reduce freight damage, the cooking chamber ships assembled while the cart ships unassembled. Two people can typically complete cart assembly in 60–90 minutes using basic tools. Local pickup is also available at Yoder Smokers’ Wichita, Kansas location, which may significantly reduce shipping costs. Who’s This For?
