Traditional and Compact Design Handcrafted from teak wood and forged by hand from carbon steel, this Viking battle axe brings to life the conquests and explorations of Viking warriors. The Vikings, with their practical methods of waging war, wielded axes just like this on and off the battlefield to make full use of their design. This fully functional axe has a sharpened edge. At around eighteen inches in length, this hatchet can be wielded with one or both hands. The blade has a beaten forged texture hinting at its handmade craftsmanship, this not only gives off a sense of rustic, historical charm, it also proudly displays the unmistakable marks of the blacksmith. Similar to historical Viking axes, the blade has a curved beard that narrows into the hexagonal socket on the handle. This socket is riveted to the handle for a secure fit. At the back, the socket has a flattened block called the poll. The long, straight handle is dark brown teak wood.
