Yellow Spot Irish Whiskey

About Yellow Spot Irish Whiskey Yellow Spot is an iconic Irish whiskey, embodying the rich tradition of Ireland's whiskey-making. This 12-year-old single pot still whiskey is a harmonious blend of malted and unmalted barley, triple-distilled for smoothness. It's part of the revered 'Spot' family, originally produced in the early 1900s by Mitchell & Son of Dublin. Yellow Spot stands out for its maturation in three types of oak casks – American bourbon barrels, Spanish sherry butts, and Spanish Malaga casks – each contributing to its unique flavor profile. It's a celebration of the Irish spirit, offering a glimpse into the historical craft of whiskey-making in Ireland. Tasting Notes for Yellow Spot Irish Whiskey The aroma is a delightful mix of sweet honey, peaches, and a touch of spice. Smooth and silky on the palate, it unveils layers of toasted oak, creamy vanilla, and ripe fruit. The finish is long and mellow, with a subtle hint of sweet wine and spicy oak. Suggested Serves We recommend a slow sip, neat, to experience the full breadth of aromas and flavors. Production Notes Yellow Spot is crafted using a combination of malted and unmalted barley, triple-distilled in traditional copper pot stills. It's aged for a minimum of 12 years in three distinct types of oak casks: American ex-bourbon barrels, Spanish sherry butts, and unique Spanish Malaga casks. The latter, previously used for sweet fortified wines, imparts an extra layer of complexity and sweetness, making Yellow Spot a truly unique Irish whiskey. 750ml & 92 Proof
