YELLOW MAGIC ORCHESTRA - Solid State Survivor (Yellow Clear Vinyl) (LP)

Solid State Survivor, the groundbreaking second album from Yellow Magic Orchestra, is back on vinyl in a stunning transparent yellow edition, now available at STOKYO WORLD and imported directly from Japan! Originally released on September 25, 1979, this album didn’t just define a genre—it sparked a cultural revolution. Packed with iconic tracks like "Rydeen", "Technopolis", and the legendary "Behind the Mask" (later covered by Eric Clapton and Michael Jackson), Solid State Survivor brought technopop to the forefront and turned YMO into global icons. From their bold red Mao-style suits on the album cover to their cutting-edge "techno cut" hairstyles, YMO became the ultimate trendsetters of their time. This album was a massive success, earning the #1 spot on the Oricon Weekly and Annual Album Charts in 1980 and winning the Japan Record Award for Best Album. It remains one of the most celebrated albums in Japanese rock and pop history. Now, to celebrate the album’s 41st anniversary, this limited-edition yellow clear vinyl is here by popular demand! Using the same remastered audio from the 2018 reissue (remastered by Bob Ludwig and cut by Bernie Grundman), this pressing recreates the magic of the original 1979 release with a modern audiophile touch.
