Makita Cordless Combo Kit XT296ST 1/2 Inch Hammer Drill 1/4 Hex Impact Driver (18V LXT Brushless 970 1550 In-Lbs XPT Dual 5.0Ah Batteries Bag)

Makita XT296ST 18V LXT Brushless Cordless 2-Piece Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit (5.0Ah) The Makita XT296ST 18V LXT brushless cordless 2-piece combo kit powers structural timber boring, masonry anchor drilling, metal self-drilling screw installation, and heavy lag fastening across residential, commercial, and industrial jobsites. Combining the XPH16Z 1/2-inch variable 2-speed hammer driver-drill delivering 970 in-lbs of maximum torque and 27,000 BPM with the compact XDT14Z 1/4-inch hex 3-speed impact driver generating 1,550 in-lbs of torque and 3,800 IPM, this package delivers balanced commercial performance. Outfitted with Quick-Shift Mode and Tightening Mode (T-mode) for cam-out prevention, Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) for harsh-environment dust and moisture resistance, two 18V LXT 5.0Ah BL1850B battery packs with LED fuel gauges, and a DC18SD charger, it equips tradesmen with all-day drilling and fastening runtime. Best Used For: Commercial Framing and Masonry Anchor Drilling: Drilling high-speed holes through 2x dimensional lumber, plywood subflooring, brick, and concrete masonry units using the 1/2-inch hammer driver-drill. Precision Self-Drilling Sheet Metal Fastening: Driving self-tapping TEK screws into metal framing and HVAC ductwork without stripping threads or snapping screw heads using impact Tightening Mode (T-mode). High-Torque Structural Lag and Deck Screw Driving: Sinking heavy timber lags, ledger screws, and long structural fasteners rapidly into hardwood posts with 1,550 in-lbs of impact torque. Key Performance & Safety Features Makita-Built Brushless Motors: Electronically controlled motors eliminate carbon brushes to run cooler, deliver up to 50% longer runtime per charge, and maximize power-to-weight efficiency. High-Torque 1/2" Hammer Driver-Drill (XPH16Z): Delivers 970 in-lbs of max torque with dual speed ranges (0-550 and 0-1,800 RPM; 0-8,250 and 0-27,000 BPM) for high-speed wood and masonry boring. Precision Quick-Shift & T-Mode (XDT14Z): Automated electronic controller downshifts rotational and impact speeds prior to final seating to eliminate screw head stripping and workpiece damage. Extreme Protection Technology (XPT): Integrated protective seals channel water, slurry, and abrasive jobsite dust away from internal motor and switch electronics. Star Protection Computer Controls: Digital communication system continuously monitors the tools and batteries in real time to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. Dual 18V LXT 5.0Ah Lithium-Ion Batteries: Heavy-duty BL1850B battery packs feature integrated 4-LED fuel gauges, impact-resistant outer cases, and shock-absorbing internal liners.
