XPARTCO DC97-16782A Dryer Drum Roller

XPARTCO DC97-16782A Dryer Drum Roller The XPARTCO DC97-16782A is an aftermarket replacement drum support roller compatible with select Samsung and Kenmore dryers. The drum roller is a rear support wheel that cradles the dryer drum and allows it to rotate smoothly during every drying cycle. Over time, the rollers wear down, causing the drum to wobble, squeak, or thump during operation — replacing them restores quiet, stable drum rotation. This roller features a self-lubricating bushing and includes the roller shaft and mounting tri-ring clips for a complete, ready-to-install assembly. It measures approximately 3-1/4 inches in diameter and directly replaces OEM part numbers DC97-16782A, DC97-07523A, and DC97-07523B. Sold individually — most Samsung dryers use two rear drum rollers, so we recommend replacing both at the same time. Installs in 30–45 minutes with basic hand tools. Quick Answer The XPARTCO DC97-16782A Dryer Drum Roller fixes squeaking, thumping, or rumbling noises coming from Samsung and Kenmore dryers during operation. The drum roller supports the rear of the dryer drum — when worn, it causes noise and uneven drum rotation. Includes roller shaft and mounting clips. Approximately 3-1/4" diameter. To access the drum rollers, remove the top panel and front panel of the dryer, then release the drum belt tension at the idler pulley and lift the drum out of the cabinet. The two rear drum rollers are located on the rear bulkhead. Remove the mounting clip, slide the old roller off the shaft, and install the new DC97-16782A roller — the shaft thread is clockwise. Reinstall the mounting clip to secure the roller. Replace both rear rollers at the same time even if only one appears worn. Reassemble the dryer, restore power, and run a test cycle. Tip: While the drum is out, inspect and replace the drum belt (6602-001655) and idler pulley (DC93-00634A) if worn. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, putty knife or flat pry tool. Frequently Asked Questions How many drum rollers does my Samsung dryer need? Most Samsung dryers have two rear drum support rollers. This listing is for a single roller. We strongly recommend replacing both rollers at the same time — even if only one appears damaged — since they wear at the same rate and replacing both prevents the need to disassemble the dryer again soon after. What does the drum roller do? The drum rollers are support wheels mounted on the rear bulkhead of the dryer. They cradle the back edge of the dryer drum and allow it to spin smoothly during operation. When the rollers wear down or develop flat spots, the drum wobbles and creates loud squeaking, thumping, or grinding noises. Does DC97-16782A replace DC97-07523A and DC97-07523B? Yes. The DC97-16782A is the updated part number that directly supersedes both DC97-07523A and DC97-07523B. If your dryer originally used either of those older part numbers, the DC97-16782A is the correct current replacement. Should I also replace the drum belt and idler pulley at the same time? Yes — since the dryer is already fully disassembled to replace the rollers, it is highly recommended to also inspect and replace the drum belt (6602-001655) and idler pulley (DC93-00634A) at the same time. These three parts wear together and are commonly sold as a dryer repair kit, saving you from having to take the dryer apart again in the near future. Is this an OEM or aftermarket part? This is an aftermarket replacement part built to OEM-equivalent quality standards. It is not a genuine Samsung OEM part, but is made from durable rubber, plastic, and metal to match the dimensions and performance of the original DC97-16782A roller.
