XPARTCO DA32-00024W Refrigerator Temperature Sensor

XPARTCO DA32-00024W Refrigerator Temperature Sensor The XPARTCO DA32-00024W is an aftermarket replacement temperature sensor for Samsung refrigerators. This sensor senses the temperature inside the refrigerator and sends that information to the electronic control board, which uses it to regulate cooling and, on many models, manage the defrost cycle. The manufacturer designation for this sensor is "SENSOR TEMP;NW2,5V,R-DEF," indicating its role in the defrost-related temperature monitoring circuit. Over time, the sensor's electronics can drift out of calibration or fail outright from age or moisture exposure. A failing sensor typically shows up as inconsistent cooling, temperatures that run warmer or colder than the set point, or increased energy consumption as the refrigerator's control struggles to compensate for inaccurate temperature readings. It directly replaces AP5579174, 3955001, and PS4138632. Quick Answer The XPARTCO DA32-00024W Refrigerator Temperature Sensor fixes Samsung refrigerators with inconsistent cooling, temperatures running warmer or colder than expected, or increased energy consumption. Replaces AP5579174, 3955001, PS4138632. This sensor is tied to defrost-related temperature monitoring on many models — if you're also seeing frost buildup or defrost cycle issues, this sensor is worth checking alongside the defrost thermostat or heater. Common Problems This Part Fixes Inconsistent cooling in the refrigerator or freezer compartment Temperature running warmer or colder than the set point Increased energy consumption from the refrigerator overcompensating Temperature fluctuations affecting food freshness Defrost cycle irregularities on models where this sensor is part of that circuit Cross Reference Information Part numbers can change over a product's lifecycle as manufacturers update designs or release new appliance models. Key Features Aftermarket replacement temperature sensor — monitors internal refrigerator temperature Resolves "inconsistent cooling," "temperature off target," and "high energy use" symptoms caused by sensor failure Reports temperature data to the electronic control board for cooling and defrost regulation Direct drop-in replacement — no modification required Replaces AP5579174, 3955001, and PS4138632 Compatible with Samsung refrigerators Aftermarket replacement built to OEM-equivalent quality standards Straightforward installation Product Specifications Part Number XPDA32-00024W OEM Part Number DA32-00024W Part Type Refrigerator Temperature Sensor Condition Aftermarket Replacement Brand XPARTCO Manufacturer Designation SENSOR TEMP;NW2,5V,R-DEF Function Senses internal temperature and reports to the electronic control Repair Difficulty Easy Quantity 1 temperature sensor Compatible Brand Samsung Installation Notes ⚠️ Unplug Refrigerator Before Starting Unplug the refrigerator and safely store any food that could spoil while the power is off before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands. Locate the old temperature sensor per your model's service diagram, since its position varies by refrigerator model. Photograph the wiring connection before disconnecting anything. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old sensor, remove any mounting clips or fasteners holding it in place, and pull it free. Install the new DA32-00024W in the same position, reconnect the wiring harness fully, and secure any mounting hardware. Restore power and monitor the refrigerator's temperature over the next 24 hours to confirm consistent, accurate cooling has returned. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver (model-dependent), work gloves. Frequently Asked Questions My refrigerator's temperature seems inconsistent. Is this the part I need? Yes, this is a common symptom of a failing temperature sensor. Since this sensor is what reports internal temperature to the control board, a drifting or failed sensor can cause the refrigerator to run warmer or colder than intended, or to cycle inconsistently as the control tries to work from inaccurate data. What does the "R-DEF" in this sensor's designation mean? This suggests the sensor plays a role in the refrigerator's defrost-related temperature monitoring on applicable models. If you're seeing frost buildup or defrost cycle problems in addition to general cooling inconsistency, this sensor is worth checking alongside other defrost system components, such as the defrost thermostat or heater. Is this a difficult repair? No, replacing this sensor is generally a straightforward repair once you've located its mounting position, which can vary by model. It typically involves disconnecting a wiring harness and removing a small mounting clip or fastener. Is this an OEM or aftermarket part? This is an aftermarket replacement part built to OEM-equivalent quality standards. It is not a genuine Samsung OEM part, but is manufactured to match the sensing function, voltage reference, and mounting configuration of the original DA32-00024W sensor used in compatible Samsung refrigerators.
