DuPont FilmTec™ XLE-440 Extra Low Energy Brackish Water RO Membrane – 8" x 40"

DuPont FilmTec™ XLE-440 Extra Low Energy Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis Membrane – 8" x 40" | 14,000 GPD High Productivity The FilmTec™ XLE-440 is DuPont’s flagship extra low energy brackish water RO membrane, engineered to deliver exceptional permeate flow and high-quality water at significantly lower operating pressures. Perfect for large-scale municipal drinking water systems, industrial utility water, and water reuse applications, this high-productivity element helps you reduce energy costs, lower pumping requirements, and minimize capital expenditure without sacrificing performance. With an impressive 440 ft² active membrane area and a 28 mil feed spacer, the XLE-440 produces up to 14,000 gallons per day (53 m³/d) while achieving 99.0% stabilized salt rejection — all at just 125 psi test pressure. This makes it one of the lowest-pressure, highest-flow 8" brackish elements available, ideal for systems with good pretreatment and a focus on energy efficiency. Key Benefits: Extra Low Energy Operation — Runs effectively at lower pressures (around 100–150 psi in many systems), reducing electricity consumption and pump size compared to standard brackish membranes. High Productivity — Massive 440 ft² active area delivers 14,000 GPD nominal permeate flow, allowing fewer elements per vessel and lower system CAPEX. Excellent Permeate Quality — 99.0% stabilized salt rejection (minimum 97.0%) with strong performance on silica, nitrates, and ammonium. Superior Fouling Resistance & Cleanability — Wide pH cleaning range (1–13) and robust polyamide thin-film composite construction for longer membrane life and fewer cleanings. Fiberglass Outer Wrap — Provides durability and structural integrity in high-flow industrial setups. Proven Reliability — Backed by DuPont’s decades of RO innovation and technical support. Ideal Applications: Municipal drinking water production Industrial demineralization and utility water Food & beverage processing Water reuse and reclamation projects Large commercial RO systems producing >10 GPM of permeate Technical Specifications: Active Area: 440 ft² (41 m²) Feed Spacer Thickness: 28 mil Permeate Flow Rate: 14,000 GPD (53 m³/d) nominal Stabilized Salt Rejection: 99.0% Minimum Salt Rejection: 97.0% Membrane Type: Polyamide Thin-Film Composite Dimensions: 40" Length × 8" Diameter (fits nominal 8" pressure vessels) Maximum Operating Pressure: 600 psi (41 bar) Maximum Operating Temperature: 113°F (45°C) pH Range (Continuous): 2–11 | Short-Term Cleaning: 1–13 Maximum Pressure Drop: 15 psi per element / 50 psi per vessel Maximum Feed Flow: 75 GPM (17 m³/h) Free Chlorine Tolerance: <0.1 ppm Maximum Feed SDI: 5 Test conditions: 2,000 ppm NaCl, 125 psi (8.6 bar), 77°F (25°C), pH 8, 15% recovery.
