XLAB Torpedo Versa 200 Hydration System

If you want the same convenience and practicality that the Torpedo Versa 500 offers, but with much less impact at the bank, then the XLAB Torpedo Versa 200 Hydration System will start looking very good to you. The Torpedo Versa 200 offers all the most important aspects of its more expensive brother, but with just a few economizations. For instance, the Torpedo mount is an aluminum plate that comes with a simpler design than either the carbon plates. But it still attaches as easily with Velcro and a limited amount of hardware. And it will still offer you the same amount of flexibility in how you arrange your cockpit. The bottle cage is made from a nylon composite, keeping is light and strong while saving a little in the cost department. Just as with the 500 version, this cage cleverly works with the provided Torpedo water bottle or an ordinary bottle for simple training days. The Versa 200 Torpedo bottle has been designed to be aerodynamic and leak-proof. Shaped like a torpedo, hence the name, the Torpedo bottle will cut through the wind easily when it acts as the leading edge of your cockpit. You can access the water using the flexible straw, which will slot neatly under a “dolphin tail” plate on the bottle. The high-flow bite valve will ensure that you are never struggling to suck in the water while you are already riding on the rivet. It is nonetheless leak proof since the sealed breather valve won’t give up any of its water, even if you shake it around. And the viewing window, through which you can tell how low you are on water, is also sealed. That’s pretty important; even if you don’t mind getting splashed with a little water now and again, the stakes get much higher when you are using a sticky energy drink. The last thing you want is any part of that concoction sticking to your fingers, arms, or bars. The bottle itself holds 26 ounces and is dishwasher safe if placed on the top rack and the dishwasher runs on the normal cycle – not fondue pot-cleaning heat levels. The Torpedo Versa mount has been designed to be able to handle fitting between aero bars ranging in width between 75 and 150mm, which is quite a spread. Once you attach the telescoping, multi-position Garmin quarter-turn mount, you can then have immediate access to all your most important data. Having the capability of putting the computer mount in different positions will be hugely important depending on what you are doing throughout your ride. Are you using a normal water bottle on a training ride? Simply angle the computer mount so that it is level with the Torpedo Carbon Mount, and you will easily be able to access your bottle. Do you want to keep it in alignment with your Torpedo Bottle to keep it aero for a race, you can do that too. And it adjusts so easily you can do it on the fly. The work/family life balance is hard enough to find without also having to throw in hours of interval training on the bike. If you find it hard to justify some of your necessary cycling purchases, then you’ll be happy to find this economical way to have access to the best hydration system on the market. The XLAB Torpedo Versa 200 Hydration System will give you the head start you need without making you feel like you are diverting too many funds away from the family needs. Note: Computer not included
