XLAB Gorilla Carbon Bottle Cage

Have you ever been on the verge of getting mad at a car honking at you only to realize that they were alerting you to the fact one of your rear bottles had launched? The XLAB Gorilla Carbon Bottle Cage has been designed to be the lightest, most reliable rear carrier for your tri needs. Developed with six gripping fingers, the Gorilla Cage boasts the equivalent of seven pounds of grip force. Tall sides lend support even to the larger-sized bottles that are so useful for those epic training days, or races when the organizers aren’t providing your preferred drinks. The carbon used for the cage is also thicker allowing for a stronger hold as well. The stiff hook at the top means that once you secure your bottle in the slot, it's not going anywhere till you pull it out again. XLAB is careful to warn you, however, that there are certain bottles that simply don’t work well with this design. You want to have a bottle that has a uniform groove all the way around high enough up that it will slip perfectly into the Gorilla hook. They candidly say that the Camelback Podium and the Polar Insulated both has designs that do not work as well with the Gorilla, and make them more likely to be launched. If you are uncertain whether your bottle will work, just do yourself a favor and get the XLAB Aqua-Shot bottle. The Gorilla Carbon Bottle Cage is made from carbon, which keeps it at a fantastically light 39 grams. You’ll never have to worry about another launched bottle with the XLAB Gorilla Carbon Bottle Cage.
