Ximenynic Acid is a long chain fatty acid only found in a select amount of plant oils. Ximenynic Acid is a acetylenic monounsaturated fatty acid. What does this mean? It contains a carbon-carbon triple bond. This is what contributes to the elegant feel, superb spreadability, and extraordinary sensory feel of Ximenia Oil. What are the key hair and skin uses of Ximenia Oil? Hair- this is a traditional African hair oil. Fabulous for textured and damaged hair. Ximenia oil has great glide in hair applications, helps reduce frizz, hydrates dry hair, adds shine, reduces frizz and protects damaged hair without being heavy or greasy. Skin- the special long chain fatty acid, Ximenynic Acid, gives Ximenia oil not only its luxury feel but also makes it more hydrating to the skin and makes it a more shelf stable oil. This long chain fatty acid also helps to build the skin’s lipid barrier, making it ideal for aging and dry skin. What is the history of Ximenia Oil? Ximenia oil has traditionally been used in Africa as a hair and skin protectant. It is derived from the Ximenia fruit, which is a wild grown plant rather than one cultivated on a plantation. Ximenia fruit are used both for their food source and for the oil that is crush from the seeds. This makes Ximenia oil a sustainable oil as it is a secondary use product and it is wild grown. Ximenia oil is often mixed with clay and then used as a hair and skin application to help protect against UV damage and sun exposure. Ximenia oil  is prized for its lightweight feel on hair, and the higher levels of moisture delivered to dry skin. Ximenia oil is a rare oil in the cosmetic industry, delivering unparalleled moisture and luxurious skin feel to both skin and hair care products. The wild sourcing and the ancestral use of Ximenia make it a special ingredient for your product line. What kind of products would be good with Ximenia oil and how much should you use?
