Moon kissed Earth wrought Vision drunk, by Karen Pierce Gonzalez

Poetry, chapbook, 20 pages, from Bottlecap Features. This mythical journey of discovery begins when three legendary women of Babylon – mother, crone, lover – call the poet forth from a midnight dreamscape. The conversations between she and the Mesopotamian mistresses of transformation twist and turn inside out, and swim several realms of reality; each a reflection of truths, desires, and fears. With creative clarity, raw insights and emotions are reflected in the colorful artwork that visualize the collection’s mystical nature. Fabric sculptures, hand-painted spices, and collages of rose hips, weeds, and more form visual bridges that span shores of intuitive understandings. An award-winning writer and artist, Karen Pierce Gonzalez’s chapbooks include Coyote in the Basket of My Ribs (Kelsay Books), Down River with Li Po (Black Cat Poetry Press), Sun and Moon Wired Together (Midsummer Dream House), Mountains of Ocean: 10 Waves and RavenSong (Poetic Librettos/Four Feathers Press). To date 75+ of her intuitive artworks have been published in a range of chapbooks and journals, including Hedgehog Poetry Press, and Chestnut Review. And she does all this in the verdant rural landscape of San Francisco’s North Bay.
