The Whirlpool Bake Element is the lower heating component in your slide-in electric range that generates the heat needed for baking and roasting. It receives electrical current and converts it into radiant heat, warming the oven cavity from the bottom up to reach and maintain your set temperature. The Whirlpool Bake Element can fail from normal wear over time, hot spots caused by uneven current flow, grease buildup that causes scorching, or physical damage from items dropped inside the oven. A burned-out or broken element will prevent the oven from heating properly, leaving you with undercooked food or an oven that won't heat at all.
