The Whirlpool Water Valve controls the flow of household water into the appliance. It opens and closes to send water to functions such as filling, dispensing, or making ice, depending on your model. It helps the appliance reach the right water level and stop filling at the right time. Common failures come from mineral buildup that restricts flow, debris caught in the inlet screen, or normal wear that keeps the valve from sealing.
