The Whirlpool Broil Burner DSI Electrode is the ignition component that generates the spark needed to light the broil burner in your oven. When you activate the broil function, the electrode receives a high-voltage signal from the ignition module and produces a rapid spark that ignites the gas at the burner. This allows the broil element to heat up and cook food from above as intended. The Whirlpool Broil Burner DSI Electrode can wear out over time from repeated spark cycles, heat exposure, or grease buildup on the tip that weakens the spark. Cracking in the ceramic insulator, corrosion on the electrode tip, or a damaged wire connection can also prevent the electrode from firing reliably.
