Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator Motor (WP4389147)

The Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator Motor powers the evaporator fan that circulates cold air from the freezer compartment throughout the refrigerator. It keeps air moving across the evaporator coils and distributes the cooled air to maintain consistent temperatures in both the freezer and fresh food sections. The Whirlpool Refrigerator Evaporator Motor can wear out over time due to bearing failure, dust and ice buildup around the fan, voltage fluctuations, or simple age-related fatigue on the motor windings. A failing motor may run intermittently, make unusual noises, or stop entirely, leaving the refrigerator unable to maintain proper cooling. Look for these symptoms to help determine if the evaporator motor is the source of your refrigerator problem: - Refrigerator or freezer is not cooling properly despite the compressor running - Unusual humming, buzzing, or squealing noise coming from inside the freezer - Fan blade is not spinning when the refrigerator door is open and the fan should be running - Frost or ice buildup on the evaporator coils caused by poor airflow - Fresh food section is warm while the freezer stays cold - Refrigerator runs constantly trying to reach the set temperature - Intermittent cooling that improves temporarily before failing again
