Whirlpool Dryer Door Switch Assembly (WP3406107)

The Whirlpool Dryer Door Switch Assembly is a vital component in your dryer. It ensures the appliance operates only when the door is securely closed. This switch acts as a safety feature, preventing the dryer from running when the door is open. It plays a key role in the dryer’s start-up process by completing the electrical circuit needed for the machine to function. Over time, the door switch assembly may fail due to regular wear and tear. Frequent use can lead to mechanical fatigue, causing the switch to become unresponsive. Accidental damage or exposure to moisture can also contribute to its malfunction. When the switch fails, it disrupts the dryer’s ability to start or stop correctly. If you suspect the door switch assembly is faulty, look for these symptoms to determine if this part needs replacement: The dryer does not start when the door is closed. The dryer continues to run when the door is open. No clicking sound is heard when the door is closed. The dryer stops mid-cycle unexpectedly.
