World Cup Final 2-Pack

The game is nice and all, but more importantly, you can decide which country makes better wine with this 2 pack. Both wines are evenly matched and have each tested negative for performance enhancing barrels [no new oak, both are aged in used vessels]. Our shootout involves: 2024 Zorzal, 'Gran Terroir' Malbec - Mendoza, Argentina Impressions: exhibits an intense nose of fresh plum, blueberry, and blackberry, beautifully layered with violet reflections and subtle hints of oregano, smoky tobacco, and vanilla-oak. Sourced from high-altitude vineyards sitting roughly 4,400 feet above sea level in Gualtallary, the palate delivers rich dark fruit and chocolate flavors framed by a distinct, chalky mineral texture. The finish is long and exceptionally fresh, driven by the vibrant acidity and fine tannins typical of this elevated mountain terroir. 2019 Señorío De P. Peciña, Crianza - Rioja, Spain Impressions: Opens with intense aromas of ripe red berries and pomegranate, beautifully layered with classic notes of balsamic, leather, vanilla, and cigar box spice. Benefiting from an extended aging process of 24 months in neutral American oak barrels and 18 months in the bottle, the palate offers a remarkably smooth, rounded mouthfeel with deeply integrated wood flavors. The finish is structured, savory, and long, driven by a refreshing acidity and fine-grained, rustic tannins that highlight its traditional Rioja craftsmanship.
