Work for Hire Agreement Template: Own the Work You Pay For

Why You Need a Work-for-Hire Agreement When you hire someone to create content, designs, code, or any intellectual property for your business, you may assume you automatically own it. The truth? Without a legally binding Work-for-Hire Agreement, the creator may retain ownership rights—even if you paid for the work. This means they could: Reuse the work for other clients (including competitors) Claim ownership over your logo, content, or photos Refuse to hand over original files Sell your materials to other businesses Control the way you use the work Ask for more money Sue you for infringement Our Work-for-Hire Agreement Template puts you in control. It clearly states that you, the hiring party, are the legal owner of all work created under the contract.
