The 471st Bombardment Squadron was a World War II United States Army Air Forces unit. Activated in July 1942 at Greenville Army Air Base, South Carolina, the squadron operated as a North American B-25 Mitchell Replacement Training Unit (RTU) to train individual pilots and aircrews before their deployment to combat. During its two years of service, the unit fell under the 334th Bombardment Group. It featured a famous mascot named "Bomby the Bear," an emblem that was later notably produced as a collectible pinback button by Kellogg's cereal in 1943. This shirt is printed on demand and ships 2-3 days from your order date.
