Wolf Tooth GoatLink

The Wolf Tooth GoatLink is a simple yet highly effective upgrade for riders running wide-range 1x10 drivetrains with Shimano Shadow+ derailleurs. Co-developed with Lindarets, the GoatLink repositions the derailleur to achieve optimal clearance and alignment when using large 40T or 42T cassette expanders. By improving how the derailleur interfaces with wider-range cassettes, the GoatLink enhances chain wrap, shifting sharpness, and long-term drivetrain longevity—all without requiring a longer B-screw. While the GoatLink increases clearance and improves derailleur position, it does not increase total derailleur capacity, making it critical to verify your derailleur’s capabilities before expanding gear range. For compatible Shimano Shadow+ 10-speed derailleurs (clutch-style only), the GoatLink provides a direct, bolt-on solution that positions the derailleur where Shimano’s geometry cannot when larger aftermarket cogs are added. The result is more consistent shifting and reduced wear on both the cassette and chain. Optimized for Wolf Tooth GC 40T and 42T range extenders—but fully functional with any 11–40T or 11–42T 10-speed cassette—the GoatLink delivers measurable improvements in chain wrap and shifting precision. It is not compatible with SRAM derailleurs or direct-mount-native frames, and riders should confirm their derailleur's B-pivot thickness (7.9–8.1 mm) to ensure correct fit. Wolf Tooth GoatLink Specs Compatibility: Shimano Shadow+ 10-speed clutch derailleurs with 7.9–8.1 mm Direct Mount link or B-pivot knuckle. Optimized Use: Designed for Wolf Tooth GC 40T and 42T expanders; works with 11–40T and 11–42T cassettes. Not Compatible With: SRAM derailleurs; direct-mount-native frames; early Shadow+ derailleurs with thinner links. Benefits: Improved chain wrap and shifting precision; better cassette life; no longer B-screw required. Performance Gains: 40T: +69% chain wrap, +25% free chain length; 42T: +53% chain wrap, +19% free chain length (results vary by bike). Material: 6061 aluminum. Weight: 19 g. Included: Stainless steel bolt. Torque: 8–10 Nm. Made in the USA: Designed and manufactured in Minnesota. Design Benefits Optimized derailleur position: Ensures proper clearance for 40T–42T cogs and improves shifting consistency. Extends drivetrain life: Better chain wrap reduces wear on both cassette teeth and chain. No B-screw changes: Eliminates the need for longer B-screws or workaround adjustments. Simple installation: Direct bolt-on upgrade designed for straightforward, reliable fit. Final Take The GoatLink is a highly effective, low-cost upgrade for riders expanding their gear range on Shimano 1x10 systems. By adjusting derailleur geometry to suit wide-range cassettes, it enhances shifting performance and component longevity—making it a trusted solution for modernizing older drivetrains.
