Wolf Tooth 104 BCD Chainrings

Wolf Tooth 104 BCD Chainrings are built around one of the most widely used bolt patterns in mountain and trail cycling. As the original product that launched Wolf Tooth Components, this 104 BCD chainring set the standard for modern 1x conversions—combining precise machining, proven wide/narrow technology, and long-term durability in a lightweight package. At the heart of every Wolf Tooth 104 BCD Chainring is the patented Drop-Stop® wide/narrow tooth profile. The wide tooth face maximizes contact on the drive side to better distribute pedaling load and extend wear life. The narrow tooth clears mud and debris efficiently, reducing friction and maintaining smooth drivetrain performance in rough conditions. The alternating wide/narrow pattern dramatically improves chain retention and minimizes the risk of derailment. Compatible with any 104 BCD crankset, these chainrings are designed for 1x9, 1x10, 1x11, and 1x12 drivetrains and meet the requirements for E-bike use. Riders using a 9-speed drivetrain should pair with a 10-speed chain for tighter engagement and improved chain security. Compatibility & Installation Notes Fits: Any 104 BCD crankset. Power Meter Compatibility: All sizes compatible with QUARQ power meters; 30T version is uniquely compatible in the 104 BCD category. Older Shimano 2x Cranksets: 32T size works with many XT, SLX, and Deore models. 30T Chainring: Offset 2mm. Drivetrain Compatibility: 1x9, 1x10, 1x11, 1x12 (use 10-speed chain for 9-speed systems). Chainring Bolt Requirements 30T: Threaded; requires 7–10mm bolts (10mm recommended). 10mm required when used with 104 BCD bash ring. 32T, 34T, 36T, 38T: Use 6mm 1x bolts (unless running a bash ring). Bash Ring Applications: 30T requires 10mm bolts; other sizes require 8mm bolts (stock 3x crankset bolt length). Wolf Tooth 104 BCD Chainrings Specs at a Glance BCD: 104mm.
