The Wolf Precision Tungsten Scribe has a tip that is made from tungsten carbide that is coated with titanium nitride. This produces a very hard and low friction surface that allows the scribe to move freely and easily in use. This scribe will give superior results when used for marking on metals like steel, brass, copper gold, platinum and silver. It also works well with soft materials such as wood and of course wax. Scribe is fixed and is non retractable This scribe is not recommended for marking glass. Measures 5-1/2" long by 3/8" diameter. Tip is 0.3mm with a 3.0mm shank
