The Winthrop Tackle EPIC Butt is a glue through-butt design, geared with octagonal hoods, matching nuts and nylon washers. A machined flat on the reel seat ensures anti-reel rotation while fighting the fish. EPIC Butt comes with an either short or long mushroom gimbal to be installed by the rod builder. Created to accept reels from 30# – 50# Class. Every detail is important. We designed our gimbal with a mushroom shape for more comfort, so you stay focused on the fight. Available in our classic short design and our new long gimbal adds an extra 1-3/4” to your Epic Butt. New – EPIC Butt #1 is a modified version of EPIC Butt and accepts a size #1 ferrule and ferrule nut instead of the glue through-butt design.
