Winter Melon Giant Black

This is a mid-maturing hybrid winter melon. The plant grows vigorously and is tolerant of both heat and cold. It is also highly resistant to disease. The melons are uniform and easy to grow, with a growth period of 110-160 days for spring planting. The fruit is long and cylindrical with a blunt round top, with a uniform black skin and thick flesh. The flesh is dense, sweet, and delicious, and the melon can be stored for a long time. Each melon is about 80-100 cm long, 18-22 cm in diameter, and weighs 15-20 kilograms. Note：Compared to other small winter melons, large black skin winter melon takes longer to sprout (5-10 days at about 85~90F), and it also takes longer to grow and mature. As a result, it’s important to have patience when growing this melon, especially for beginners.  Check out our YouTube videos for suggestions on germinating gourd seeds, and how to grow winter melon in your garden, and a simple recipe our kids love!
