Willamette

For gorgeous gift knitting, try Willamette, a deeply textured scarf with a reversible motif of cabled diamonds over garter stitch. There’s a chart for the A side and another for the B side; alternate knitting a row from each and you’ll end up with a beautifully patterned fabric that’s different but equally arresting on both sides. Willamette is active knitting with cables on every row, but the geometric motifs are predictable and easy to track.
