will endure

“will endure” is wear and tear; the artist chose to leave the original color of the wood present. even forgoing a layer of gesso under the oils. They wanted all cracks to show as a way of communicating honesty and vulnerability, the idea of going straight for what you want---even if it slips through your fingers, at least you held it for some time.
