While slate field tile is typically gray or bluish-gray in color, beautiful natural off-white slate is often incorporated into stacked stone ledger tiles. Quartzite Quartzite is a hard metamorphic rock that is prized for its crystalline sparkle and durability. While pure quartzite often appears white or off-white in color, other colors can appear in quartzite (such as yellow, green, pink, or orange), depending on its mineral composition.
