The White Lined Sphinx moth is a member of the family Sphingidae, sometimes called hummingbird moths on account of their feeding habits and overall character. Hummingbird moths feed off plant nectar by hovering in front of a flower and sipping from it using their long, flexible, straw-like mouthparts. Contrary to popular beliefs about moths in general, they are active during the daytime.
