White-breasted Nuthatch

The White-breasted Nuthatch is a small, distinctive woodland bird known for its acrobatic tree-climbing abilities. What makes nuthatches truly unique is their ability to walk headfirst down tree trunks, a behavior that distinguishes them from woodpeckers and other tree-climbing birds. They use their strong feet and long hind toes to grip bark while searching for insects, larvae, and spiders hidden in crevices. They also eat nuts and seeds, often wedging them into bark crevices and hammering them open with their bills - hence the name "nuthatch." Hand-made in the USA.
