Where Stillness Gathers 2 | Original Acrylic Painting, 24 x 36 inches

Where Stillness Gathers is an original abstract botanical acrylic painting on canvas, 24 x 36 inches, by contemporary artist Juanita Bellavance. Where Stillness Gathers unfolds as a quiet field of movement held within a softened, atmospheric ground. Layers of pale blue-gray and diffused white create an open, breathable surface, while slender botanical forms rise and dissolve throughout the composition. The stems vary in presence—some barely there, others gently defined—allowing the eye to move slowly, without urgency, across the canvas. Subtle shifts in value and softened edges create a sense of depth without interruption. A single, slightly more resolved form offers a moment of pause before the painting returns to stillness, maintaining a delicate balance between structure and release. The restrained palette and gentle transitions evoke the experience of being within a landscape rather than observing it—where movement is felt more than seen. Calm yet quietly expressive, the work brings a refined botanical presence to interiors designed for clarity, openness, and understated elegance.
