Martin's Wheatwine Recipe Kit

Fresh beer ingredients, measured out and ready to brew. This Wheatwine recipe kit comes with every pre-measured ingredient you need to brew Martin's Wheatwine, a 5-gallon all-grain batch, from grain to glass. Wheatwine is an American invention from the 1980s, a barleywine-strength beer built on a large proportion of wheat rather than all barley. Rubicon Brewing in Sacramento usually gets credit for the first, and the style stayed rare after that. The wheat gives it a bready, slightly tangy character and a fuller body, while the strength brings honey, light caramel, and a hint of bread crust. This one folds actual honey into the grist for a drier, more floral finish. Magnum and Hallertau keep the bitterness in check, with Nectaron adding a fruit note over the top.
