Wheatena is a toasted wheat product with unique taste and 25% more fiber than the leading brand. In 1879, a small bakery owner on Mulberry Street in lower New York City began roasting whole wheat, grinding it and selling it in packages branded Wheatena.  Soon, it began appearing in local Newspapers and the rest is history! Wheatena is a very healthy high fiber cereal that has been popular for over a century! Wheatena is a 100% all natural, toasted whole wheat product which is rich in bran, protein and wheat germ.  It is also an excellent source of whole grain. Today, fiber is part of just about everyone’s diet vocabulary. Most know they should increase their fiber intake but are confused about quantity and types of food to consume. The Institute of Medicine established fiber guidelines: 38 grams per day for men and 25 grams per day for women. This is about twice the amount the average American eats per day. Wheatena is an excellent source of dietary fiber and provides the highest fiber content among all leading hot cereals; 5 grams of fiber and 5 grams of protein per serving.  To increase fiber intake for any diet, Wheatena is a logical option. Wheatena is not just for breakfast! It is a versatile grain that can be easily added to your favorite recipes such as muffins, quick breads, stuffing and other side dishes. It increases the fiber and nutritional value without adding cholesterol.  Click here for RECIPES!
