Born on a Maine boat in 1997. Made by the same hands ever since. A generous 18 oz porcelain mug. Wide enough for both hands on a cold morning. Hand-cast, hand-finished, and signed in our studio in Edgecomb, Maine. The whale-tail handle isn't decoration — it's the whole point. It started in 1997, on a boat off the Maine coast. A whale came alongside, dove, and surfaced one more time before disappearing. Her tail waved above the water, slow and graceful, and was gone. We wanted to keep that moment, so we held it in clay.
