GE Washing Machine Motor (WH49X25376)

The GE Washing Machine Motor powers the drum and drives the wash and spin cycles by converting electrical energy into the mechanical rotation needed to move clothes through water. It is a 1/3 HP motor that connects to the drive system to control agitation speed and spin force throughout each cycle. A GE washing machine motor can fail due to worn brushes, overheating from repeated heavy loads, water intrusion, or deterioration of internal windings over time. Electrical faults, a seized bearing, or a faulty capacitor can also cause the motor to stop working or perform inconsistently during normal use. Watch for these symptoms to help determine if the motor is the source of your washing machine problem: - Washer drum does not spin or agitate at all - Motor hums but the drum fails to move or start - Washing machine stops mid-cycle without completing the wash or spin - Burning smell or smoke coming from the machine during operation - Drum spins weakly or much slower than normal - Washer trips the circuit breaker or blows a fuse repeatedly - Loud buzzing or grinding noise when the cycle tries to start
