GE Washer Tub (WH45X20473)

The GE Washer Tub is the large inner drum that holds your laundry and water during the wash and rinse cycles. It rotates during the spin cycle to remove water from clothes and works alongside the agitator or impeller to move garments through the wash water. The tub is a central structural component that supports the entire washing process from start to finish. The GE Washer Tub can crack, chip, or develop rough spots along its surface from repeated impact with heavy loads, sharp objects left in pockets, or general wear over years of use. Corrosion or damage to the tub surface can snag and tear fabric, cause leaks, or lead to imbalance issues during the spin cycle. These symptoms may indicate your washer tub needs to be replaced: - Visible cracks, chips, or rough spots on the inner drum surface - Clothes coming out with snags, tears, or small holes after washing - Water leaking from inside the drum area during or after a cycle - Excessive vibration or loud banging during the spin cycle - Rust stains or discoloration transferring onto laundry - Tub wobbles, sits unevenly, or does not rotate smoothly - Unusual scraping or grinding sounds coming from inside the washer
