GE Washer Drain Pump (WH23X10043)

The GE Washer Drain Pump removes water from the tub at the end of the wash and rinse cycles by pulling water out through the drain hose. It is driven by a small motor that spins an impeller to create the flow needed to empty the tub before the spin cycle begins. GE washer drain pumps can fail from debris buildup inside the pump housing, worn impeller blades, a burned-out pump motor, or damage caused by foreign objects like coins or small garments getting past the filter. Over time, these issues prevent the pump from moving water efficiently or stop it from working altogether. These symptoms can help you decide if a drain pump issue matches your problem: - Washer will not drain or drains very slowly after a wash or rinse cycle - Standing water remains in the tub at the end of the cycle - Loud humming, grinding, or rattling noise during the drain portion of the cycle - Washer stops mid-cycle and displays a drain error code - Spin cycle does not start because the tub has not fully drained - Water leaking from the pump area underneath the washer - Pump runs continuously without successfully removing water from the tub
