GE Washer Control Board (WH22X38517) (Replaces WH22X37297, WH22X34397, WH22X35541)

The GE Washer Control Board is the main electronic brain of your washing machine, receiving input from the control panel and sending signals to components like the motor, water valves, and pump to carry out each stage of the wash cycle. It monitors and coordinates timing, water levels, spin speeds, and temperature settings to keep the washer running as programmed. Important Compatibility Note: Part number WH22X38517 is the current manufacturer-approved replacement for the following discontinued part number(s): WH22X34397, WH22X35541, WH22X37297. If your appliance documentation or old part uses any of these numbers, this is the correct, updated component for your repair. A GE washer control board can fail due to power surges, voltage spikes, moisture exposure, or simply normal wear on electronic components over time. When the board stops working correctly, it may lose the ability to communicate with other parts of the washer, causing erratic behavior, error codes, or a complete loss of function. These symptoms may point to a failing control board in your washer: - Washer will not start or respond when the cycle is selected - Cycle stops mid-wash and the machine becomes unresponsive - Error codes appear on the display that do not clear after a reset - Washer skips stages of the cycle, such as not draining or not spinning - Buttons or controls on the panel do not respond as expected - Washer runs continuously without advancing through the cycle - Water valves or the motor do not activate even when the cycle is running
