GE Washer Dryer Combo Timer (WH12X950)

The GE Washer Dryer Combo Timer controls the sequence and timing of each cycle in your combo unit, signaling when to fill, wash, rinse, spin, and dry. It works by rotating through programmed positions that open and close electrical contacts, telling the machine what to do and for how long at each stage of the cycle. The GE Washer Dryer Combo Timer can wear out over time as its internal contacts corrode, burn, or break from repeated use and electrical stress. Heat, moisture, and age can cause the timer motor to slow or stop advancing, leaving the unit stuck in one cycle or unable to start a new one. These symptoms may point to a failing timer in your washer dryer combo: - Cycle does not advance and the unit stays stuck in one stage - Washer or dryer will not start when the dial is turned - Unit stops mid-cycle without completing the wash or dry sequence - Timer dial turns freely but nothing happens when a cycle is selected - Machine skips certain cycle stages like rinse or spin - Combo unit runs continuously without shutting off at the end of the cycle - Visible burn marks, melting, or a burnt smell near the control area
