GE Washer Timer (WH12X10202)

The GE Washer Timer controls the sequence and timing of each cycle in your washing machine, signaling when the washer should fill, agitate, rinse, and spin. It works by advancing through preset positions that send electrical signals to the motor, water valve, and other components to keep the wash cycle moving in the correct order. A GE washer timer can fail from normal wear on internal contacts and gears, electrical surges, or heat buildup over years of use. When the timer wears out, it may stop advancing on its own, skip portions of the cycle, or lose the ability to send the right signals to other parts of the machine. These symptoms can help you decide if a faulty timer matches the problem you are seeing: - Washer stops mid-cycle and does not continue without manual intervention - Cycle takes much longer than normal to complete - Washer skips one or more cycle stages such as agitation, rinse, or spin - Timer dial does not advance or turns freely without engaging - Washer does not start when the timer is set to a cycle position - Machine fills with water but never begins agitating - Washer runs continuously without moving to the next stage or shutting off
