Weeping Blue Spruce

Weeping Blue Spruce (Picea pungens 'Glauca Pendula') is a lovely dwarf, evergreen tree that will reach 6 to 8 feet in 10 years and has striking weeping branches. A highly sought-after tree with bright silver-blue foliage, it makes a stunning focal point in the landscape. The Weeping Blue Spruce is a relatively easy-to-grow small, strongly adaptable tree. It can be used in containers, garden beds, or stand alone as a specimen in the landscape. Its weeping form creates a unique look to any home and will make your landscape stand out. To keep up the overall health of your specimen, plant in a full sun area with well-draining soil. Although these trees enjoy full to partial sun, they are also exceptionally cold hardy, thriving in growing zones 3-8. When pruning is necessary, it is recommended only to trim back the current season's new growth, other than to remove any dieback. As an added bonus, deer don't particularly care for this plant and will usually leave it alone in favor of tastier treats.
