The GE Dishwasher Blower circulates warm air inside the dishwasher tub to help dry dishes after the wash and rinse cycles are complete. It works by drawing in air, heating or directing it across the interior, and pushing moisture out so dishes come out dry and ready to put away. The GE dishwasher blower can fail from normal motor wear, buildup of debris or mineral deposits blocking the fan, or electrical faults in the motor windings. Overheating from restricted airflow or age-related wear can also cause the blower to run weakly or stop working entirely, leaving dishes wet at the end of the cycle. These symptoms can help you decide if the blower is the source of your dishwasher problem: - Dishes are consistently wet or damp at the end of the drying cycle - No airflow or air circulation heard during the dry cycle - Blower motor makes unusual humming, rattling, or grinding noises - Dishwasher completes the cycle but drying performance has noticeably declined - Burning smell coming from the dishwasher during or after drying - Blower runs intermittently or stops before the drying cycle finishes
